We all hope to make our tiny ones a better version of ourselves. We expect them to be flawless and often our expectations of them are larger than life. We wish to live our dreams through them, whether they want us or not!
Our best intentions sometimes work against us and the outcome is the complete opposite of what we expected. Giving them whatever they want does not give them the passport to happiness, rather it makes their life dull and challenging. Being a parent is the toughest jobs in the world. Raising children is a matter of intellect, love and sensitivity. One need not be agreegable all the time especially when they are at fault.
Parenthood is best described as a deeply human experience. It is the greatest events of lifetime, both physically and emotionally. For us, Kimzi is a precious girl. She is a constant reminder of God's wonderful provision in our life. It is not always easy to study newborn babies, but I have always been fond of exploring the babyhood stories, their physical fundamentals, feeding methods, physical changing patterns, skin care and health care with homemade products, but one should be totally aware of the ingredients to be used on our baby's skin. All parents want what is best for their baby, so it’s natural to be extra cautious when it comes to baby skin care products. Babies have very sensitive, delicate skin making them prone to rashes and irritation but unfortunately the usual culprits when it comes to skin troubles are actually the parents, so please DO NOT experiment on them. I always AVOID a cocktail of chemical use on my baby's skin.
I thank MUM for all the guidance she gives me while Kimzi is growing. I love to follow all her methods, infact all those methods which seem to be logical and effective on babies.
There is a long list of books which helped me in finding out all about parenthood and babyhood but my favourites are "BABYHOOD" BY PENELOPE LEACH, "YOU ARE YOUR CHILD's FIRST TEACHER" BY RAHIMA BALDWIN AND "EFFECTIVE PARENTING" BY DR SHAYAMA CHONA. Many Thanks to these books and my mum for guiding me so well in this toughest phase of life. Here, I share couple of tricks I have learnt by now from those wonderful books and my Mum.
